18 Jan Kids Sewing Class Starting Soon!
With Schools already underway, its time to start with Sewing Lessons for the Kids!
These classes are my favourite sessions in the week, as we get to learn and share so much, and have fun!
I am hugely passionate about sewing, and I love to pass this on, to both my Lady and Children’s groups. There are huge benefits on learning how to sew, especially as at a young age.
Sewing for me is all about problem-solving. Sewing doesn’t always go right, and with this we figure out what happened- either with the fabric, the machine, or how we can work with our hands better. But don’t worry if this sounds terrible, the sense of accomplishment is fantastic, and there is true joy at finishing a project and using it! There is nothing better than saying you’ve made it!! Sewing also involves calculating some maths, fine motor skills, colour and fabric choices, and also celebrating some of that creativity!!
Our first project of the month starts us off with a simple 4 square quilted scatter cushion (so even easier than the pic!) where we practice our straight sewing skills, some basic hemming, and zig-zagging of the raw edges! You also get to choose your own colours and fabrics, so that the cushion suits your style or bedroom!
Sewing Classes are held in my studio in the Champagne Valley, Central Berg. I accommodate 5-6 children at a time, so they get enough personalised attention and help. There are some sewing machines available to use in class, or better yet, bring along your own, so that you can practice on it:)
Classes are held weekly, with classes on a Monday afternoon 3-5pm or a Friday afternoon 1:45- 3:15 pm.
The classes are R110 per lesson if you attend weekly, or a R120 for a once off class. I strongly recommend coming weekly, as the continuous improvement of sewing skills is quite impressive. The class fee includes all supplies needed for the class.
Looking Forward to hearing from you, and booking your child’s spot in class! Please contact me on Kirsten 074 123 0749:)
